Thin Slab Preprocessing Solution 6 - 12MM
Solution Introduction
In steel structure manufacturing plants, most base plates, stiffeners, connecting plates, and auxiliary details are processed from steel plates with a thickness of 6–12 mm. The characteristics of this product group are large quantities, diverse types, and high processing speed requirements. Weldcom's thin material preprocessing solution is designed to optimize the entire process from receiving raw materials, laser cutting, classifying details, internal transportation to storage. The solution not only focuses on cutting equipment but also integrates billet handling systems, detail processing robots, AGV transportation, and production coordination software to build a continuous material flow in the workshop. Through the SmarlineiQ platform, production data is seamlessly connected from drawings to machining stages and billet management after cutting, enhancing the automation level, flexibility, and operational efficiency of the entire production line.
Production Process
Step 1. Uncoil and automatically feed
The coiled steel material is fed into the uncoiling system, flattened, and continuously supplied to the laser cutting machine.
Compared to the method of using pre-cut steel sheets, the uncoiling solution significantly reduces storage area, limits intermediate stacking operations, and optimizes material usage efficiency. Continuous feeding also helps the cutting machine operate more stably, reducing waiting time between production batches.
